share your keyboard and mouse between multiple PC

Synergy Project - Version 1.5.1 - More specs... | Category: Utilities | User's Rating:

Description

Synergy is Free and Open Source Software that lets you easily share your mouse and keyboard between multiple computers, where each computer has it's own display. No special hardware is required, all you need is a local area network. Synergy is supported on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

Redirecting the mouse and keyboard is as simple as moving the mouse off the edge of your screen. Synergy also merges the clipboards of all the systems into one, allowing cut-and-paste between systems. Furthermore, it synchronizes screen savers so they all start and stop together and, if screen locking is enabled, only one screen requires a password to unlock them all.

Major features:

  • Move your mouse easily between computers
  • Requires nothing other than existing ethernet
  • Copy and paste between your computers
  • No need to press any buttons (unlike KVM)
  • You can still use multiple monitors on the same computer
  • Lock the mouse to one screen

A great application if you want it. I have two desktops next to each other and I like to have both running sometimes. On is Xubuntu 14.04 Linux and another with Windows 7. I don't want to have two keyboards and mouse in the way so I solved it with Synergy. A great application.
