How to install an old Internet Explorer version:
Multiple IE is a small application that allows you to install all Internet Explorer versions: IE3, IE4.01, IE5, IE5.5 and IE6. It is indeed not possible to install earlier versions of the Internet Explorer once you have installed IE 7 or 8. This can cause trouble if you’re a developer and if you want to check your sites on earlier IE versions orr if you use a specific software, like backoffice, that absolutely requires you to use the IE 5.5 or 6.0.
Be careful, though, because Multiple IE was initially designed to run under WinXP. You can use it under Windows 7, but in that case, you may have trouble you can solve by setting up your executables with the compatibility mode.
The only thing I regret is that, currently, Multiple IE doesn’t come directly with the IE 7 and that it doesn’t run under the Windows 7 64-bit version. Maybe in the next version?
Microsoft browser installations only allows you to install 1 browser at a time. So once you've got IE7 installed, IE6 is gone and 7 needs to be uninstalled if you want 6 back. Along comes Evolt, Joe Maddalone, Manfred Staudinger and Tredosoft. With a combination of their skills we can install multiple versions of IE on a single machine without running virtual PC or parallel installations of Windows. Multiple-IE allows you to install and use simultaneously IE3, IE4.01, IE5.01, IE5.5, et IE6 without any conflict Multiple-IE was made to work with Windows XP. The application can easily crash on Vista and Seven.
Warning :Multiple IE is no longer maintained
