If you came on allmyapps today, you probably noticed that we’ve updated the website a little. No big new features (screenshots will arrive in the next release) but little improvements :
- Improved category menu for easier navigation. Now you can open and close categories and see their sub menus without actually going the category page, clicking on the plus sign will toggle the category sub menu.
- More eye candy. Icons have been added next to the application in the “most installed apps” and “last updated apps” columns. Also, you probably noticed that a nice little favicon has been added :)
- Improved number of installations relevancy. At first, we were relying on figures taken from ubuntu popularity contest service. Unfortunately, these figures were not extremely relevant for users as “Python” was the most installed app (which is probably true technically speaking). So we’ve reset all the installation numbers and, from now on, rely only on allmyapps installation statistics.
- Fix the search filter bug. You can now finally restrict your searches by environment (KDE,Qt,Gnome,GTK) by using the “filter by environment” filter.
As usual, do not hesitate to use our feedback form to report issues or remarks you may have about allmyapps… it helps us a lot! Stay tuned for the next release, screenshots are on their way!
